Jochen Maes heads the Fixed Networks research at Nokia Bell Labs, where he continuously shifts the boundaries of access since 2006. His recent focus is on unleashing untapped potential in Passive Optical Networks through innovations such rate flexibility and synchronized scheduling. He holds a PhD in Science and is Bell Labs Fellow.
